A Christmas reminder from New Zealand Post

A Christmas reminder from New Zealand Post

New Zealanders are being reminded to send their Christmas cards and parcels early to ensure their season’s greetings get to loved ones on time.

Mailing dates close in November and December so now is a good time to plan ahead.

Customers have until Saturday 18 November, using International Economy, to reach family and friends in Australia and the South Pacific in time for Christmas. For the rest of the world including Asia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe, that date is Saturday 11 November.

International Air and International Express services are available for those who do not make International Economy deadlines.

Destination Australia and South Pacific

(Zone A & B) Rest of the World

(Zone C, D & E)
International Economy Saturday 18 November Saturday 11 November
International Air Monday 11 December Monday 4 December
International Express Monday 18 December Wednesday 13 December

To send parcels and letters within New Zealand Tuesday 19 December is the deadline for Standard Post and Thursday 21 December is the FastPost cut off date.

This year New Zealand Post is giving customers even more of an incentive to send Christmas cards. From 4 October, customers can pick up a Christmas stamp booklet of ten $1.50 stamps from a PostShop and only pay for nine. Customers can use those stamps to send International Air cards to Australia and International Economy to the rest of the world.

New Zealand Post is also offering a set of six 45c stamps, a matching set of six Christmas cards and six envelopes for just $7.50. The stamps and cards are the result of New Zealand Post’s Design a Stamp competition held earlier this year. Schoolchildren were asked to produce art based on the theme ‘what Christmas means to me’.
