Wanna See More Of New Zealand?

Accor Première Vacation Club’s expansion continues at Wanaka NZ

November 13, 2006: Australia and New Zealand’s leading timeshare company, Accor Première Vacation Club (APVC) announced today they have unconditionally contracted to purchase apartments within the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort complex at Lake Wanaka on New Zealand’s South Island.

Once completed, APVC Members will have access to 15 fully self-contained 1 and 2 bedroom apartments at the property. The agreement valued in excess of $5 million with Northern Link Developments will see the club release existing apartments to its members immediately, and further construction of apartments carried out in the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort’s next phase of development upon approval of architectural plans.

“Wanaka is an ideal location for our New Zealand and Australian members, and complements our existing properties in nearby Queenstown and the recently purchased APVC Puka Park Resort, Grand Mercure on the Coromandel Peninsula,” said Martin Kandel, CEO of Accor Première Vacation Club.

“Perfect for couples or families, APVC’s 16,500 Members and their families now have three quality destinations in New Zealand to choose from, in addition to the 14 properties they already enjoy across Australia,” he added.

The Resort’s amenities will be fully accessible by members, and include a heated rock pool and spa complex, petanque court, barbecues, children’s play area and the established and renowned Oakridge Restaurant and Bar.

Situated on 1.5 Ha of land in a stunning mountain setting, the Grand Mercure Oakridge Resort is the closest resort to Cardrona ski field and at the base of New Zealand’s foremost ski field, Treble Cone. The resort is easily accessed, being only 2 minutes drive from the Wanaka town centre, just a 30 minute flight from Christchurch, and only a 90 minute flight from Auckland.

The Wanaka region is home to four international ski areas, the island-dotted Lake Wanaka, and is also the gateway to the Mount Aspiring National Park. It is a four season favourite destination for New Zealanders and for international visitors.

Accor Première Vacation Club is a wholly owned subsidiary of the region’s largest hotel and tourism operator Accor Asia Pacific. APVC’s expansion plans include further openings of sales offices and acquisitions across the Asia Pacific region, the first of which is a new Preview Centre expected to open in Bali in the first quarter of 2007. In operation since 2000, the Club’s 16,500 Members and their families utilise the benefits of APVC’s flexible Holiday Ownership system in Australia, New Zealand and around the globe.
