Harcourts Academy Launches Career Path Website

Harcourts Academy Launches Career Path Website to Meet Increasingly Sophisticated Needs

29 November 2006

Australasia’s fastest growing real estate group, Harcourts International Ltd, has launched a new purpose-built website for its unique training division, The Harcourts Academy –

While Harcourts’ website has been in operation for over a decade and is consistently the most visited real estate company website in the country, The Academy’s new website focuses purely on the information needs of those looking to join or progress in the industry. With six fulltime trainers and close to 500 training days run by The Academy each year throughout its Australasian operation, Head of The Harcourts Academy, Irene Green noted provided a valuable forum to reinforce Harcourts’ professional approach to resource this part of its operation and upskill the industry as a whole.

Ms Green added those joining the industry were increasingly from highly professional backgrounds with sophisticated expectations of ongoing training, upskilling, and clear career path options, which Harcourts offered, outlining everything from induction through to ownership on “The Harcourts Academy is the only real estate training facility in Australasia to offer this type of structured course path and tailored learning system and we are often regarded as the industry benchmark.”

The Harcourts Academy was first launched in early 2002 in response to Massey University research which found a looming industry crisis of decreasing skills. Since then, The Academy’s close association with Massey University has included offering a Sales Management programme and papers towards the AREINZ real estate industry qualifications and Graduate Diploma in Business Studies.

In Australia, Harcourts has official accreditation as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) enabling sales consultants to gain nationally recognised credits towards their sales certification. Harcourts Australia also has an association with the Australian Property and Business College for its consultants to obtain credits towards a higher industry qualification.

Ms Green said, “We have a responsibility to provide the public with skills and competency of value to the transaction. We pride ourselves on our reputation for providing the best training in the industry to ensure our people give the public expertise and knowledge which is the business of real estate.”
