Voting In Fonterra Shareholders’ Council 2007 Elections Underway

Voting in Fonterra Shareholders’ Council 2007 Elections opened today with voting packs sent to Fonterra shareholders in five wards.

Voting for Shareholders’ Councillors is on the basis of two votes per shareholder, using the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. Both votes can be used by the shareholder, or one can be given to the sharemilker. These votes are not weighted by milksolids production.

The five wards where elections are being held are as follows:

Online secure voting is available through Fencepost.com. Fax voting and postal voting can also be used.

Voting closes at 12 noon on Thursday 22 March 2007 and results will be announced by media release on Fencepost.com that day. All shareholders will then be advised of the election results in a letter from the Board Chair.
