Air New Zealand’s Record Online Sale

Air New Zealand’s Record Online Sale

Air New Zealand has broken its one-day online sales record by an amazing 23%.

General Manager Internet Nicki Garraway says Air New Zealand’s Mother’s Day Sale on Friday last week generated $7.5 million in sales over 24 hours, up nearly $1.4 million on the previous record.

“These outstanding sales figures were also matched by record visits to the Air New Zealand website, with 180,000 visits in 24 hours compared with the previous best day of 139,000 visits. Friday’s figures also demonstrate that Kiwis are becoming more comfortable booking international travel online as the proportion of these fares sold continues to pick up pace,” Ms Garraway says.

Air New Zealand’s online sales have experienced rapid growth over recent years. In the 2003 financial year, sales totalled $150 million and this year they are expected to exceed $1 billion dollars.
