From Brazil with Love- Beleza Pura Launches in New Zealand

Kevin Rowe, Director Tickety-Boo Liquor Ltd, today announced a new product range to its liquor portfolio- Beleza Pura, a Super Premium Cachaça and ready made Caipirinha from Brazil.

Pronounced 'Beh LEY-zuh POO-Rah ka-SHAH-sa', this cachaça compares to the finest tequilas, rums and vodkas in the world.

In Brazil, beleza pura means ‘pure beauty’ “Beleza Pura was created with a passion to be pure, and be true to the sugarcane spirit,” comments Olie Berlic, creator of Beleza Pura Cachaça and Caipirinha.

“The Beleza Pura Caipirinha, pronounced ‘kie-pee-REEN-ya, was a natural extension of the Beleza Pura Cachaça and was created so that bartenders wouldn’t have to spend all night making the popular cocktail without sacrificing quality and taste,” added Berlic.

Cachaça (‘ka-shah-sa’) or “Brazilian rum” is often compared to rum, which uses molasses, a by-product of sugar refineries.

Cachaça uses fresh sugarcane juice to ferment and distil the libation. It is the third most-consumed distilled spirit in the world with over 5,000 brands in Brazil. Cachaça is the liquor used in Brazil's national drink, the Caipirinha.

This fresh, exotic cocktail is becoming as hot among international crowds as it is on Copacabana Beach. The traditional caipirinha blends cachaça, sugar cane, limejuice and ice and appears on top cocktail lists from London to Tokyo.

Olie Berlic, a former NYC Sommelier, acted as a master distiller and spent three years of intense research in Brazil tasting well over 800 different Cachaças

“I wanted to demonstrate to the world that Brazil is capable of producing world class spirits,” says Berlic. Since launching in 2004, Beleza Pura has received rave reviews internationally and has won a number of major awards, including Gold at the 2007 World Beverage Competition, Silver at the 2007 International Cane Festival and Silver at the 2005 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
