Don Brash Joins ANZ National Board As Rob Mcleod
Retires
Former Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Dr
Don Brash will be appointed as a director of ANZ National
Bank on 1 June 2007, Board Chairman Sir Dryden Spring
announced today. Dr Brash will replace Mr Rob McLeod who
retires from the Board on 20 June 2007.
Dr Brash, who was the Reserve Bank Governor between 1988 and 2002, is recognised internationally for his financial sector knowledge and leadership. Before joining the Reserve Bank, Dr Brash enjoyed a distinguished career in banking and management. “We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Dr Brash’s experience joining our Board,” Sir Dryden said.
Sir Dryden also thanked Mr McLeod for his contribution to ANZ National Bank. “Rob has made an extremely valuable contribution to ANZ National Bank. He has been a very able chairman of the Audit Committee and has played an important role in the success of the integration of ANZ and The National Bank. We wish him well for the future.”
