NZVIF wins Public-Private Partnership of the Year Award

Last night NZVIF won the Public-Private Partnership of the Year Award at the annual Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards.

Each year the Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards recognise excellence in the field of business support, honouring those entities and individuals who make real contributions in providing quality products and services, making life easier for business owners.

Chief Executive Franceska Banga said, “This award reflects the hard work of everyone who is part of the very exciting, growing New Zealand venture capital industry. Our goal is to create a vibrant self-sustaining venture capital industry in NZ that is a significant economic contributor to our future.”

The New Zealand Venture Investment Fund (NZVIF) is a Crown Owned Venture Capital fund established to invest into innovative New Zealand companies and catalyse a sustainable venture capital investment industry.

NZVIF manages two investment funds, the $160m Venture Capital investment fund and the $40m Seed Co-investment fund. These funds provide innovative, high growth potential, kiwi companies with capital and expertise needed to succeed.

To date, NZVIF has invested in six venture capital funds and established co-investment partnerships with four angel investment networks. Through NZVIF, around $120m has been invested in over 40 New Zealand innovative companies.
