The Warehouse knows NZ’s biggest music secret…

Red Shed sponsors New Zealand’s Highest Selling Album & The Red Room
As New Zealand artists nervously await the announcement of the “Highest Selling Album”, New Zealand’s leading music retailer has a strong hunch of who will take the stage on Thursday, but is keeping tight-lipped.

“As New Zealand’s largest music retailer, we have a fairly accurate idea of who leads this category,” Stuart Yorston, GM Marketing for The Warehouse, says. “We take our role as supporters and promoters of New Zealand artists seriously, and we are proud to support the 42nd Annual Vodafone NZ Music Awards.”

During the last 12 months The Warehouse has sold almost four million CDs. Stacked one on top of the other these would rise above 38,000 meters high, that’s approximately 117 times the height of Auckland’s Sky City Tower (328 metres), or 4.3 times as the height of Mt Everest, the highest mountain on earth (29,029 feet).

This year at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards, The Warehouse has created a twist on the Green Room concept. ‘The Warehouse Red Room’ will be a relaxing back-stage zone where artists, media and celebrities can relax, mingle and entertain themselves throughout the event. Themed and decorated by renowned kiwi designers Graham Dickie and Peter Reid, The Warehouse Red Room will be decked out with funky décor, furniture and state-of-the-art entertainment gear, also available from our stores.

To generate support for this year’s awards The Warehouse gave customers the opportunity to win an “Ultimate VIP Experience” in conjunction with the Vodafone NZ Music Awards. Lucky winner Rona Reeves (Auckland) and a guest will enjoy two days of luxurious VIP treatment and pampering while staying at one of Auckland’s finest hotels, and taking the opportunity to meet some of New Zealand’s leading artists behind-the-scenes. Rona and her guest will attend the awards plus the after party on October 18th.
