LE extends C70 & C30

LE extends C70 & C30

January 2008

Volvo has introduced LE specification cars to its C70 and C30 model ranges.

“The C70 LE brings a more affordable coupe/convertible into our model range, while the C30 LE provides a third model of our small hatch,” said Mark Patterson, the General Manager of Volvo Cars.

The C70 LE retains the electronic retractable hardtop roof of the C70 T5, which continues at $99,990 and is the only convertible – coupe to be awarded a “top safety pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in North America for 2008.

The C70 LE is priced at $84,990 and comes with a five cylinder 2.4 litre motor providing 125 kWs and 230 Nm of torque. It has a five speed Geartronic automatic transmission.

The C30 LE hatch has the same power train with the 125 kWs motor and five-speed automatic and will sell for $49,990.

“The LE has a different raison d’être than the performance T5 or the price-leading S,” said Mr Patterson, “the emphasis is on comfort and luxury.”

Major differences from the C30 S, include full leather upholstery and electrically adjustable driver’s seat, retractable door mirrors, puddle lights, pollen, dust and exhaust particle filters on the dual zone climate control air conditioning and an eight speaker sound system.

Both the C70 LE and C30 LE come standard with stability traction control, ABS brakes with EBD and EBA, six air bags and head restraints. The C70 also has a roll over protection system.
There are alloy wheels, 16 inch on the C30 and 17s on the C70, fog lights front and rear, retractable door mirrors, leather upholstery, electric windows, cruise control, trip computer and auto dimming rear view mirror.

Other standard equipment includes an alarm, engine immobiliser, remote control central locking, homesafe and approach lighting, dual zone climate control, eight speaker sound system with iPod/MP3 compatibility and audio controls on the steering wheel.

Like all other Volvos, the C30 LE and C70 LE have a three year unlimited kilometres warranty and seven year anti-corrosion warranty.
