Weight management company Jenny Craig has signed former True Bliss band member and radio presenter, Joe Cotton, as its first celebrity ambassador for Jenny Craig New Zealand. Joe features in a new Jenny Craig television advertisement, currently airing nationwide.

The Jenny Craig premise focuses on 'getting real' and aims to empower women to be the best they can be and to set realistic expectations for their weight loss and weight management. The Jenny Craig programme is based on leading a healthier lifestyle, not on dropping to a specific dress size.

Joe was chosen as a Jenny Craig ambassador because New Zealand females relate to her and she is a great role model for those wanting to improve their health and physique.

"I am thrilled to be on the Jenny Craig programme," says Joe Cotton. "I am about to start the programme and I have already tried some of the delicious food. I am very excited about starting the journey.

"I've loved learning about the Jenny Craig programme and am looking forward to gaining the knowledge and skills to reach and maintain my ideal weight. I'm also hoping that I will be able to burn my hideous magic knickers and wear something a little more sexy!"

Joe Cotton joins a global Jenny Craig celebrity alumni that includes Kirsty Alley, Queen Latifah, Australian actress Paula Duncan, Australian 'Biggest Loser' contestant Fiona Falkiner and 2005 Australian Idol winner Kate DeArugo.

Ken Carter, Managing Director Jenny Craig Australia and New Zealand, says Jenny Craig is delighted to have Joe as an ambassador to help inspire and motivate Kiwi women wishing to improve their physical well being.

"Joe has a vivacious spirit and a can-do attitude, always striving to be the best she can be. By choosing a more sensible yet effective approach to managing her weight Joe is bound to experience the incredible results the Jenny Craig programme is renowned for."

Joe plans to lose up to 6kgs before her wedding, planned for early 2009, and maintain her healthy new weight. Jenny Craig New Zealand hopes to have a number of Kiwi celebrity ambassadors on the programme.
