Speakers to give away business secrets

Speakers to give away business secrets

Secrets about how to be a successful sustainable business will be revealed at this year's Small Business Expo in Wellington.

Sustainability is the theme at this year's Small Business Expo which is on at the TSB Bank Arena, Queens Wharf from 25-27 June. The Genesis Energy Sustainability Zone has been set up to make it easy for people attending the expo to get information on how to do business sustainably.

A special Sustainability Morning will be held at the Wellington Small Business Expo on 26 June from 9.30 am opened by the Minister for Climate Change and Energy Hon David Parker.

All keynote speakers at this year's Small Business Expo have a fresh story to impart; a journey of success and business growth stemming from their commitment to sustainability says the business woman behind the Small Business Expo, Sarah Trotman.

"While sustainability will be the core of each address, the brief is to give practical advice that business owners can use to develop their business and increase productivity. This is of such pressing interest to business that we decided the best way for people to learn how to build a sustainable business model was to invite a number of experts to discuss how the principles can be applied to any small and medium business," she says.

"These seminars, part of The National Bank Seminar Series and free to all attendees, will be backed up by our Genesis Energy sustainability zone at the expo where businesses offering expertise in that area will be grouped for easy access by attendees."
The Small Business Expo is sponsored this year in Wellington by Vodafone, Genesis Energy, OGGI and NewstalkZB, with partners being; Statistics NZ, Ministry of Economic Development and The National Bank.
The Small Business Expo website has full details of the speakers and topics being covered in The National Bank Seminar Series. From the website, www.businessexpo.co.nz prospective attendees can purchase tickets online and pre-register for specific sessions of The National Bank Seminar Series.
"Having sustainability as our theme is an exciting opportunity to help small businesses understand this topic; that it's an issue that's not going away and one that will be important to all businesses in the future," says Gay Rankin, General Manager Business Banking at The National Bank.

Keynote speakers at the Small Business Expo include Energy Mad founders Tom MacKenzie and Chris Mardon (25 June at 1 pm); Peri Drysdale CEO of Untouched World (26 June at 1 pm); Campbell Yule from Design Mobel (Tauranga) on 26 June at 5 pm; and Robb Donzé from Interface NZ Ltd (Auckland) on 27June at 1 pm.
