Stir fry and serve – Asian cooking made easy

Asian-style food is becoming increasingly popular in New Zealand and with the introduction of the Breville Healthsmart Wok and the Avance Rice Duo, Asian dishes have never been easier to create in your kitchen.

According to Cliff Carr, Breville’s National Sales Manager, Breville has responded to these ever changing culinary tastes, as well as their customer’s ongoing needs by adding these two state-of-the art appliances to their already extensive kitchen range.

“These products are a must-have for Asian foodies. Asian cooking is renowned for its variety of flavours, textures and ingredients and both the wok and rice maker offer a fuss free approach to tasty stir-fries and curries, says Carr.

“The other advantage of Asian-style food is its health benefits. By tossing veggies into the wok together with the meat, you really don’t need to add extra oils or fats to cook. That not only makes for an appetizing dish, but a healthier one too,” he says.

The Breville HealthSmart Wok brings simplicity back to the kitchen. The wok is the cooking tool which is most commonly associated with Asian food thanks to its long sloping sides which provide an extended cooking surface. The Breville HealthSmart Wok has cleverly designed high heat butterfly element wraps around the base and side so that heat is evenly distributed. Additional features include non-stick cooking surface, Cook‘n’Look lid with adjustable vent, cool touch handles, and temperature control with 10 settings.

The Avance Rice Duo is easy to use, making perfect rice every time! With a non-stick cooking bowl, rice can be kept warm for up to five hours once cooking is complete. Suitable for making white, brown and sushi rice, this rice cooker will make all manner of Asian dishes effortless to prepare.

Additional features also include non-stick stainless steel steaming tray (ideal for vegetables, seafood and poultry), seven cup capacity which makes up to 14 cups of cooked rice, a soft selector control with ‘ready’ bell and automatic ‘keep warm’ setting and a removable cord.

So why not join the Asian trend and start to experiment in the kitchen? Spoil yourself by indulging in a tantalizing line of mouth watering Asian cuisines with a little help from Breville!
