Variable Print Data And Direct Mail Lessons

Print NZ media release (September 2008)

Variable Print Data And Direct Mail Lessons At Conference

Attendees will be fully educated on how to best exploit variable data printing and utilise targeted direct mail to get their message across to consumers at next month’s Ink In Our Veins annual printing industry conference.

Speaking at 1pm on Tuesday, day two of the conference, which is being hosted by PrintNZ at Wairakei near Taupo from October 13-15, New Zealand Post Mail Marketing Service national manager Sonya Crosby will discuss print opportunities with post.

Ms Crosby will outline how print can compete for its rightful share of the increasingly-competitive media mix and how New Zealand Post is leveraging its competitive advantage to grow the direct mail industry.

Tasked with growing the quality and quantity of direct mail for the country’s largest advertisers in her current position with New Zealand Post, Ms Crosby’s CV spans numerous agency, client and industry organisations. This includes senior roles with Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann Erickson (Brisbane), TV3, a Sydney-based “telco”, the Newspaper Advertising Bureau and an Internet company.

Also focussing on developments in this area, at 2.45pm on the last day of the conference, Segmarketing founder and chief executive Rafi Albo will explore the significant opportunities that variable data printing can provide the printing industry.

Mr Albo has extensive experience in the marketing field and has worked for Israel’s leading consulting, furniture retailing and direct marketing firms. Utilising a combination of technology and methodology, his company has established customer relationship and loyalty programmes for numerous companies and has led a wide variety of initiatives and campaigns.
