JASMAX WINS GOLD AT BeST DESIGN AWARDS

Jasmax has won gold at the annual BeST Design Awards held in Auckland on Friday 10th October. Jasmax took out a total of four awards for their spatial design work in the Office and Workplace Environments category and one award in the Residential category.

A gold medal was awarded to Jasmax for their work on Kiwi Property Management Offices, Auckland. This interior project involved challenging the normal preconceptions of how people experience the insides of buildings. Jasmax bought together three business units, which had previously been silos, into various shared spaces to encourage interaction and collaboration.

“We worked hard to create a space that was not only an interesting office environment but one that enhanced Kiwi’s work practices, client experience, and brand expression,” says Jasmax Design Director Tim Hooson.

The judges felt the Kiwi space retained a number of personal touches alongside a generosity of common spaces for staff, and personalised clever use of graphics and colour.

Gold was also awarded for spatial design on Sovereign House, a Bligh Voller Neild project on which Jasmax assisted. This entry also took out the prestigious Stringer Award, which is the Supreme award for the category.

According to the spatial judges for the BeST Design Awards, this design had a warm human feel with its engaging use of timber. Subtly different options of working modes and a variety of workplace typologies enhance the community feel of this spatial environment.

Jasmax also took out a silver and bronze medal in the same category for their work on BNZ Quay Park, in Auckland and the DLA Phillips Fox building in Wellington respectively.

In the Residential category design director Alasdair Hood was awarded silver for his work on the inner city Precinct Penthouse.

The BeST Design awards is the annual awards program presented by The Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ) to showcase and celebrate the best work the design industry has to offer.

Jasmax is Architecture, Interiors and Landscape Design Practice with 195 staff based in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
