CVB Paves Way For Online Job Interviews

Online job board CVB has developed new technology that will help employers cut their recruitment costs.

Sales manager Scott Jackson says the technology works in a similar way to Skype but the big difference is that it is purely internet-based.

It means employers are not required to download any applications, all they need is broadband and a webcam.

In these tight economic times Mr Jackson says employers are looking for ways to cost cut in all aspects of their business.

“In regards to recruitment, this technology will save employers time and money in travel costs and it means candidates don’t have to venture far from home at all.”

What’s more, use of CVB’s technology comes at no extra cost to employers when they sign up with the company.

“All employers have to do is decide who they want to interview by video, contact the candidate and set up a time, log-on to our website and click on to the video link-up. It’s as simple as that,” says Mr Jackson.

Technology-savvy CVB developed the software itself and is believed to be the first company of its kind in Australasia to offer such live face-to-face video interviewing capabilities.

Mr Jackson says the use of video technology allows for greater interaction between job seekers and employers, maximising the opportunity for employers to find that perfect match sooner, easier and more cost effectively.

“Our video-based products make it possible for personality to be understood early in the recruitment process by bringing together the candidate and recruiter much earlier than is otherwise possible, which is particularly important when applicants are not local,” he says.

“The standard recruitment process usually takes between four to six weeks so the key advantage is, with this technology there’s a much quicker turnaround.”

Mr Jackson says CVB prides itself on the fact that it offers both employers and job seekers world-leading technology to speed up the recruitment process.

And the video interviewing capabilities are in keeping with the company’s promise that it is “the fastest way to find jobs”.

CVB also boasts the ability to text vacancies to job seekers’ mobiles and is the only job board in New Zealand to have a website tailored to suit the iPhone.

The company itself is a newcomer to the recruitment scene. The Wellington-based firm was only launched in June and it already has more than 8000 vacancies on its job board.

The recruitment site specifically targets the gen-Y market, professionals with a particular focus on accounting and IT recruitment, but caters for all sections of the market.
