Fronde Appoints a New Board of Directors

Wellington, Tuesday, 24 February

Fronde Systems Group Limited is pleased to announce the election of a new Board of Directors. The renewal of the Board, a move that has been signalled for some months now, will complete the process of refocusing the company to provide excellent IT services for the New Zealand market.

At a Special General Meeting held in Wellington on Monday 23rd February, the existing Fronde Board of Directors stepped down and a new Board of Directors was elected. In keeping with the goal of simplifying the Group, the total number of Board members was reduced from five to four. The new Board is made up of two re-elected members, David Irving and Sandy Maier, and has one new member, Wayne Norrie. There is a vacancy for a fourth director who will be appointed by the Board after a selection process and will stand for re-election at the Annual General Meeting later this year.

Retiring Chairman Phillip Shewell said today, “Refreshing the Board is a crucial step towards meeting the objectives for Fronde’s growth in 2009. With new Directors on the Board, Fronde can work towards regenerating a simple, yet highly focused IT business. Each member of the Board brings with them an in depth knowledge of the IT services industry in New Zealand plus solid network connections within the Fronde client base.”

The re-elected Directors, providing consistency and continuity, will enable a smooth transition to a new Board. David Irving is one of the founders and a former CEO and Sandy Maier is a highly experienced professional director.

Bringing fresh vitality to the Fronde boardroom table is newly elected Director, Wayne Norrie. A founder of Revera, Wayne has over 20 years IT industry experience. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, Chairman of the Hi-Tech Association and also Chairman of the Team BLM, a Director of Revera and two startups, he also serves on the NZTE Beachhead Advisory Board and the Hi Growth Board. Following the SGM, the new Board met and Wayne Norrie was appointed as Chairman of the Board.
