New Head Of Drama And Comedy At TV3

Rachel Jean Appointed As TV3’s Head Of Drama And Comedy

TV3 has confirmed the appointment of Rachel Jean to the position of Head of Drama and Comedy for the network.

Jean is an extremely well-regarded and experienced producer, with over 50 primetime television documentaries and many tele-dramas and reality series to her credit. These include Erebus; The Aftermath, 1981: A Country at War and the TV3 Inside New Zealand series High Times: The New Zealand Drug Experience.

For the big screen Jean has produced nine short films, and executive produced a further seven. She has also produced two series of the popular youth television drama series Secret Agent Men, the drama series The Market set in the Otara Markets, and the series Ride With The Devil.

Jean, who is taking over the role from Caterina De Nave, has a BA in English and Art History, a Diploma in Media Studies and a Masters Degree with Honours in Film and Television.

Kelly Martin, TV3’s Director of Programming comments, “Rachel has a huge and invaluable amount of experience working in the local film and television industry. We’re very much looking forward to reaping the benefits of having such a well-respected industry figure on board.”
