Video: Wellington's massive wind farm is switched on

IN-Business VIDEO:Wellington's massive wind farm is switched on (29 April) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfIgkGbcShI New Zealand's most advanced wind farm named "West Wind" was switched on yesterday morning. This video shows the site and the turbines which have been constructed across a massive tract of land to the west of Wellington city, in the area of Makara. The 62 turbines will generate enough energy to power the Wellington region, or approximately 70 000 homes. The site was gauged by visiting experts from Siemens as being of extremely high quality, with twice the normal wind generating power of a high quality wind farm site. The wind farm named "West Wind" uses Seimens AG 2.3 megawatt turbines.
