Product Recall Wild River Boater's Emergency Kit

22 May 2009

Media Release

NOTICE OF VOLUNTARY PRODUCT RECALL

The Warehouse today announced the recall of the Wild River Boater’s Emergency Kit, purchased between September 2007, and May 2009.

Barcode Product Description: 9417961913019 Wild River Boater’s Emergency Kit.

It is believed there may be a fault with the kits’ torch batteries; the product is therefore unsafe for its intended purpose – to act as an emergency resource kit for boating. Customers are warned not to use the product.

A spokesman for The Warehouse says the product has been recalled as quickly as possible in light of concerns for customer safety. As soon as it was brought to the attention of staff that there may be faulty torch batteries in the Wild River Boater’s Emergency kits, The Warehouse has acted as quickly to take the product off the shelves, and to book advertisements, asking that people check and return the batteries from the kits before heading out on the water.

All customers will receive a full refund, with or without a receipt as well as the option to receive free replacement batteries, with which the kit is then fully operational. Customers are advised to call 0800 422 274 during business for more information, or to contact their local Warehouse store.
