Jade Master Terminal Announces Improvements

Jade Master Terminal Now Available as Rich Internet Application

Christchurch, New Zealand, 17 June 2009 – Jade Software today announced significant improvements to its terminal operating system Jade Master Terminal (JMT), including new productivity tools and enhanced web based access for port and terminal managers.

JMT is now available as a Rich Internet Application (RIA), enabling sophisticated desktop-like interaction via a web browser and providing greater flexibility for configuring user preferences.

Written using AJAX and JADE, the new application is accessible on a standard browser from any PC or smart phone without requiring additional software.  This ease of use extends to providing a simple ‘guest’ log-in that does not require a user id or password, allowing anyone to see non-confidential information held in the system, or to run public reports.  The level of access is controlled entirely by Jade Master Terminal’s in-built standard security features.

The RIA is the latest example of Jade Software’s focus on increasing productivity within terminal operations. Users can manage multiple terminals simultaneously, alert customers about cargo arriving at the terminal, access enhanced search and reporting capability and register over the web to be notified when any of a large number of events concerning their cargo occurs.  The RIA client displays a series of windows within the browser, allowing users to operate more than one function at a time without waiting for the completion of each task. Any JMT report can be made available securely via the RIA and multiple reports can be run concurrently.

Dave Quennell, Logistics Programme Manager, Jade Software, says; “The enhanced browser based functionality means Jade Master Terminal customers experience a far superior user interface and gain direct access to critical management information. We are already planning future features such as additional and higher quality KPI graphical dashboards and vehicle appointment booking. Also, because it’s an integral part of JMT, customers gain the advantages of RIA without incurring any additional development costs.”

The RIA is released with JMT 7.7 and will be demonstrated at Terminal Operations Conference (ToC) Europe, held 16-18th June, Bremen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
