Swine Flu a Big Contributor to Growth

Press Release - Swine Flu a Big Contributor to Growth

Swine Flu is a big contributor to public videoconferencing
growth over the last six months

VideoLink is delivering real economic value by offering a cost effective alternative to travel.

Christchurch, New Zealand – 14 July 2009: IP Communications Limited, the South Islands leading distributor of HD videoconferencing solutions, established “VideoLink.co.nz” the first High Definition videoconferencing bureau for Christchurch back in January 2009. The growth and diversity of use has impressed it’s backers with more facilities planned.

The three key drivers to growth of VideoLink.co.nz over the last six months have included; organisations cutting costs driven by the recession, a conscious effort to reduce the carbon footprint and Swine Flu. “Avoiding travel because of Swine Flu has been amongst the biggest contributors to growth over the last six months”reported Richard Bishop, Managing Director “Recent customer activities include, meetings by health professionals, board meetings, remote projects and job interviews - all customers are looking to avoid unnecessary international travel and risking potential Swine Flu infection”

VideoLink.co.nz is available to the public on a pay per hour basis, organisations and individuals can access VideoLink.co.nz 24 hours per day from the videoconferencing bureau located at Pathway House, 68 Durham Street South, Sydenham, Christchurch. VideoLink.co.nz has established direct partnerships that connect to similar services in Wellington, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and London. VideoLink is also part of several international networks that enable videoconferencing with most cities around the world.

Ridgway Capital Projects, an infrastructure finance advisory firm, has recently used the facilities to interact with key contacts in China and the Philippines. It is also establishing new business relationships in Africa and sees videoconferencing as a cost effective way to deliver value from New Zealand to these far off regions. Richard MacGeorge, Director - Ridgway Capital Projects says “Nothing will ever be a perfect substitute for face-to-face meetings, however, VideoLink has challenged the way we interact with our customers and provides us with a competitive and cost effective way to deliver our services to distant customers – this saves our clients money and we get to spend a little less time on the road”

IP Communications is confident about the future of bureau facilities like VideoLink.co.nz and is planning to add new services in the near future. Bishop continues “VideoLink is delivering real economic value by offering a cost effective alternative to travel and this is exciting for New Zealand”.
