Steel & Tube names OneSteel executive Dave Taylor as CEO
July 28 – Steel & Tube Holdings, which sells steel building supplies such as reinforcing rods, named Dave Taylor as chief executive, filling a gap after the retirement of Nick Calavrias in April.
Taylor, who is currently general manager of OneSteel Ltd.’s Australian Reinforcing Co. unit, will take up the role on Oct. 5, Steel & Tube said in a statement. Calavrias left after 19 years with the company.
Prior to OneSteel, Taylor was a BOC Group executive for 22 years, including president of its BOC Gases Korea arm, based in Seoul, and managing director of its Process Gas Solutions South Pacific in Sydney.
Chief financial officer Tony Candy will remain as acting CEO until Taylor begins.
Shares of Steel & Tube rose 0.3% to NZ$2.97 and have slipped 7.8% this year. The stock is rated ‘outperform,’ based on the consensus of six analysts polled by Reuters.
