Showcase your free and open source projects

 WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Monday 23 November 2009 –

Showcase your free and open source projects at the LCA2010 Open Day!

On Saturday 23 January 2010 from 11am to 2pm the doors to the LCA2010 Open Day will be open to the general public. The LCA2010 Open Day is an opportunity to showcase the use of free and open source (FOSS) software in your project, organisation, community, classroom or government agency. OLPC NZ (One Laptop Per Child) will be there to entertain children with the new XO laptops. There will also be a number of talks scheduled during the LCA2010 Open Day, which will introduce you to FOSS software. The event is free for all to attend.

The LCA2010 Open Day will abate your curiosity in many technical areas, with its stalls showcasing technical products and services. Stallholders and attendees can rub-shoulders with some of the world's most prestigious technical gurus.

"Having a stall at the LCA2010 Open Day is free to stall-holders and a great opportunity to showcase your company, community or project", said Jayne Foster, Open Day co-ordinator. "The event is open to the public and often their first exposure to FOSS software!"

There are only a limited number of stalls remaining. To take up this invaluable opportunity, contact Jayne on openday@lca2010.org.nz and arrange your LCA2010 Open Day stall today!

For more information, including an Open Day Info Pack for stall-holders, please see: http://www.lca2010.org.nz/programme/open_day.

b) mining in national parks and on conservation land, while building more roads.
c) giving firms easier access to the r&d from Crown Research Institutes, so that business can continue to get the taxpayer to pick up the tab for the research that keeps them competitive.
