Velocity Rewards Spreads Its Wings To The Pacific

Velocity Rewards Spreads Its Wings To The Pacific

Monday 14 December 2009: Pacific Blue’s award-winning Velocity Rewards loyalty program is expanding its membership base to include seven new Pacific countries.

Residents of Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands are now able to join the program, which rewards members with Velocity Points every time they fly on any Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue, Virgin Blue or V Australia flight.

Until now the program has only been available to residents of New Zealand and Australia.

The airline’s General Manager Velocity, Phil Gunter, said the company had been working for some time to expand the program to other countries.

“We very much value our Guests in all our Pacific Island destinations and we’re pleased we can now offer them the ability to join Velocity and begin earning points whenever they fly with any of the Virgin Blue Airlines Group.

“Members can also earn and redeem points worldwide on partners including Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Europcar, Hilton and IHG.”

The program is free to join and allows members to earn and redeem points on any seat at any time.

Velocity has won a range of awards since it began including winning ‘Program of the Year’ in 2009 and ‘Best Award Redemption’ for the past four years at the Global Freddie Awards.

Residents of Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands can join the program free online at www.velocityrewards.com
