New website takes NZ architecture to the world

New website takes New Zealand architecture to the world

New Zealand venture brand Manuka Media today announced the launch of selectARCHITECT [www.selectarchitect.co.nz], an online showcase profiling the best New Zealand architects and selected recent work.

selectARCHITECT was formed with the aim of showcasing New Zealand architects to local and global audiences. Its goal is to become the primary online destination for the discovery of high-quality, design-driven New Zealand architectural projects, and the architects behind the work.

Featuring a clean layout, simple interface and consistent format, selectARCHITECT profiles a growing selection of the best New Zealand architects. Each profile introduces a practice and a range of easily-viewed projects, giving a sense of the architect's style. Visitors to the website can also choose to be informed as new projects are added to an architect's profile, keeping them up to date with new work as it is published.

People interested in finding a quality architect or even simply keeping informed of architecture award-winners face a time-consuming and frustrating search through many different websites and interfaces. "We put a lot of time and effort into understanding what people wanted to know about architects, and that this information presented cleanly and simply. VIsitors to selectARCHITECT will find that having award-winning architects and their work to browse through in a single location is a great resource and a significant time-saver," said Robin Benson of Manuka Media.

New Zealand is a young country on the edge of the world. This prompts bold experimentation and unconventional approaches to architectural design and other creative fields. "selectARCHITECT presents a taste of New Zealand's unique architectural works to the local and global audiences. With an increasing number of people seeking to either move to or spend time in New Zealand, we need to help them discover our significant architectural talent," Benson said.

The selectARCHITECT audience is broader than simply those seeking an architect for a specific project, and includes publishers seeking fresh material, interior designers and suppliers - anybody with a professional or personal interest in keeping abreast of New Zealand architecture news and developments.
