The Ever Changing Face Of Car Stereo Equipment

The Ever Changing Face Of Car Stereo Equipment

The automobile as we know it was not invented in a single day by a single inventor. The history of the automobile reflects an evolution that took place worldwide. It is estimated that over 100,000 patents created the modern automobile. However, we can point to the many firsts that occurred along the way. It is because both Daimler and Benz invented highly successful and practical gasoline powered vehicles that ushered in the age of modern automobiles. Daimler and Benz invented cars that looked and worked like the cars we use today.

As the horse and carriage began to disappear around the year 1900, and with the advent of mass production petrol driven cars, thanks to Henry Ford, we saw the huge uptake in the “horseless carriage”.
With every year came improvements for safety and comfort including pumatic tyres, automatic gear boxes and the car radio for news and entertainment while travelling.

From the bulky valve to solid state transistors in around fifty years; it was the start of the electronics revolution. From solid state to integrated circuits meant miniaturisation for solid state car electronics and the advent of radio cassette players followed closely by the compact disc.
