BNI and Hospice New Zealand renew partnership

BNI New Zealand and Hospice New Zealand renew successful partnership

BNI New Zealand and Hospice New Zealand renewed their partnership agreement recently – one that has raised $289,000 for hospices since 2005 -- with a signing ceremony between BNI National Director Graham Southwell and Hospice New Zealand Chairman Wilf Marley in Auckland.

Hospice New Zealand also presented BNI with a certificate acknowledging the contribution of the organisation and its members in raising the $289,000.00 for individual hospices throughout the country, as well as the sponsorship of 42 BNI Palliative Care Education Scholarships, which are awarded to healthcare workers involved with hospice.

The goals of the national agreement are to raise funds for local hospices through local BNI chapters countrywide, to continue to provide multidisciplinary scholarships for palliative care health workers and to raise awareness at a national level through collaborative and national awareness activities.

BNI New Zealand Marketing Director, Colin Kennedy, said the reason why the hospice and BNI partnership worked was because the organisation’s 125 networking chapters nationwide each get to build a relationship with their local hospice.

“We have an army of business owners who can get behind their local hospices, and in so doing give something back to the community,” he said. “Networking is all about relationships, and our members are taught to do it really well.”
