A growing team for IBIS

A growing team for IBIS

New Zealand’s leading integrated tourism software company has expanded its team as it boosts the capability and capacity of the growing business.

Queenstown based IBIS Technology this week welcomed two Software Developers and a Customer Support operator to its ranks.

Paul Bibby, originally from the UK, is a highly qualified software developer. He holds a First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Information Technology. Paul has lived in Queenstown for more than ten years and has worked as a programmer for reputable companies such as Aotea Souvenirs Limited, Remarkables Software Limited and Outside Sports Limited.

Fellow UK native Mike Lewis also brings impressive qualifications to his new role. He holds a BSc in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence and MSc in Artificial Intelligence. He has extensive computing experience through his work with UK software company SmartPoint Technologies.

Lauren Price from Newcastle, Australia, joins IBIS in a Customer Support role. Lauren has worked previously in Queenstown in frontline tourism positions with companies including AJ Hackett and Totally Tourism and brings experience and knowledge of the IBIS system from a customer perspective.

Operations Manger Sarah Bogle is delighted to welcome the new team members as the company works through applying new GST rates to the IBIS system and begins its nationwide roll out the latest version of the IBIS tourism business support technology.

“Paul, Mike and Lauren each bring a wealth of skills and qualities that will contribute significantly to the IBIS knowledge base. This is a step change in our business. These appointments are about bringing together a superb team of highly qualified people to make sure knowledge is spread throughout the company rather than being concentrated in one or two heads.

“We have a growing client base, here and overseas, a new system to roll out, an old one to make new GST compliant and groundwork to lay as we look to our future development. There’s a lot of work to do. ”

The three new appointments are to permanent, full time positions bringing IBIS Technology’s staffing levels to 11 people across offices in Queenstown and Christchurch.

IBIS Technology offers end-to-end business solutions to the tourism industry through a fully integrated system covering real-time online reservations, point of sale right through to back end accounting and market analysis. The new Nexus system has many improvements on the original and has been developed in relation to the best practice knowledge IBIS Technology has built over the past 15 years of providing technology to New Zealand’s tourism sector.

Pattrick Smellie Comment: Doddling along the best we can hope forCriticising Budgets for lacking vision or imagination is like shooting fish in a barrel, but even so, this year's Budget again feels like a missed opportunity. Perhaps it's the intrusion of real world needs that means the government couldn't make better political use of the $558.8 million it expects to gather in its first partial asset sale. More >>
