Merlot Cabernet 2009 Wins Coveted Cuisine Stars

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacred Hill Merlot Cabernet 2009 Wins Coveted Cuisine Stars

The Sacred Hill Merlot Cabernet 2009 has gained the coveted Cuisine stamp of approval in their New Zealand Merlot Tasting, which entitles the wine to wear the Recommended by Cuisine sticker.

Of a total of 110 wines, John Belsham and his panel awarded four stars or above for the stunning vintage, the results of which will be published in the September issue of Cuisine, now available on shelves.

The 2009 Sacred Hill Merlot Cabernet is a complex and rich wine with excellent varietal concentration and finesse.

From the renowned Gimblett Gravels sub region of Hawke’s Baym the 2009 Merlot Cabernet is a stunning bouquet of richly complex ripe black fruits and licorice. The palate is balanced and supple with lovely plush chewy red flavours, abundant with dark fruits and a hint of mocha.

Sacred Hill Chief Winemaker Tony Bish is delighted with this most recent recognition, reinforcing the Gimblett Gravels continue to impress wine lovers around the world with its concentrated and intense red wines.

“This is a rich and satisfying red wine from what we believe will be the red vintage of the decade,” says Bish.

“We are delighted that the New Zealand Merlot Tasting panel agree, and would hope that the Cuisine stamp will encourage others to vote with their own palate!”

The 2009 Sacred Hill Merlot Cabernet is available at wine outlets nationwide. RRP $20.90.
