InternetNZ welcomes UFB shortlist announcement
InternetNZ (Internet New Zealand Inc)
congratulates the Government and Crown Fibre Holdings for
making progress on the Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB)
Initiative.
CFH has selected three parties for prioritised negotiations out of a short list of 14, keeping options open for the remainder. The three groups are: Alpine Energy (Timaru); The Central North Island Fibre Consortium; and Northpower (Whangarei).
InternetNZ Chief Executive Vikram Kumar says "Assuming these agreements can be brought to a conclusion, they represent a tangible step forward in bringing unconstrained broadband to these areas. We look forward to the recommendations for binding offers in October."
