Eventfinder passes 100,000 members

Events and ticketing website Eventfinder.co.nz has passed the 100,000 member mark today, making it one of New Zealand’s largest online communities.

A majority Kiwi owned and operated company, Eventfinder’s loyal national user base has been a key to its success. The site launched in January 2006, and now lists around 250 new events each day.

The 100,000th person to join was Laetitia Rocquet from New Plymouth. Laetitia cracked the milestone when she signed up and purchased a ticket to the NZ Tattoo & Art Festival at TSB Stadium, New Plymouth.

Around 70% of Eventfinder’s users are based in the major centers, with the rest spread across the nation, and even a few ex-pat Kiwis overseas.

Eventfinder is New Zealand’s largest event information portal. In December 2009, the company joined forces with NZLive.com under a partnership with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.

With over 200,000 unique visitors each month, Eventfinder regularly ranks among NZ’s top 30 websites for monthly traffic (Nielsen). Additionally, Eventfinder supplies event information to Yahoo!Xtra, MSN.co.nz, Stuff and NZHerald - four of NZ’s top five websites, each with over a million visitors per month.
