Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration 2011

28 September 2010

Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration 2011

From January 27-29 2011, Queenstown will be the centre of a celebration of world class Central Otago Pinot Noir. In a range of spectacular settings, local winemakers and the region’s top chefs will collaborate in what promises to be a sumptuous culinary and vinous extravaganza.

Forty selected wine producers in the region will profile Central Otago’s most famous varietal, Pinot Noir, with a series of tastings and seminars. Highlights for the wine lover will be the Grand Tasting of Central Otago Pinot Noirs and a Formal Tasting of Burgundies.

“Central Otago winemakers have a well earned reputation for knowing how to have fun as well as work hard” said chairman of the Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration, Matt Connell. “This event will not only showcase the region’s wine and food, but also the culture that creates such a dynamic local industry. It really will be a celebration of the things that make this area buzz. Delegates will get a really close feel for what we are all about.”

The celebration includes a winemaker’s party, downtown lunch in Queenstown’s finest restaurants, and the finale; the Grand Dinner at the Skyline Restaurant prepared by three renown Central Otago chefs. The Grand Dinner concludes with a charitable auction of Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Leading wine personalities from New Zealand and from New Zealand’s key international wine markets are set to be involved as guests of Central Otago Pinot Noir Ltd (COPNL).
