IT Rockstar Awards Call For Entries

IT Rockstar Awards Call For Entries

Wednesday, 9 February 2010, 12.30pm
MEDIA RELEASE: IMMEDIATE
920 Career Agents: Wellington

The entry window is now open for “IT Rockstar 2011” and we want to see your IT people strut their stuff on the main stage. It’s like American idol...for geeks.

The overall winner gets $10,000 toward a gig anywhere in the world and it’s easy to enter online.

New this year is the team entry so both teams and individuals can enter.

“We had a blast last year with some top talent coming through right across the industry from university students to senior executives,” says Mark Chote, Managing Director 920 Career Agents.

“The awards night is a huge amount of fun with applicants smashing up computers and showing of their air-guitaring. We have some amazing IT people in this country and we like to see them being profiled and rewarded.”

The criteria is simple - you could have developed a snappy piece of code, fixed a nasty bug that no one else could fix or delivered a multi-million dollar project on time and on budget. Epic rockstar attitude and thinking will make you stand out and take the title.

Head over to the website, http://itrockstar.co.nz, watch the video of last year’s winner, Drupal developer Josh Waihi, and get your entry in by Friday 1 April 2011.

The overall winner will be announced at the special awards dinner on Wednesday 20 April 2011 in Wellington. Rock on!
