Disruptions to trigger Solid Energy force majeure notices
Shipping disruptions to trigger Solid Energy force majeure notices
Feb. 23 (BusinessDesk) – State-owned coal miner Solid Energy Ltd. expects to issue force majeure notices to customers whose coal shipments are delayed as a result of the Christchurch earthquake.
Damage to rail links between the company’s mines on the South Island’s West Coast and the east coast port of Lyttelton are preventing normal shipping arrangements.
Coal available for export is being stockpiled at mines and mining operations are continuing as normal, chief operating officer Coal Barry Bragg advised in a statement.
