Raydar Picks up Mercedes-Benz

Raydar has picked up another blue chip account in Mercedes-Benz New Zealand which will see it deliver both retail and brand focused advertising and marketing communications for the prestige automotive brand.

Raydar Managing Director Darryl McClay is delighted with the new account which comes hot on the heels of Raydar's recent Pacific Blue appointment.

"We are thrilled to be working with Mercedes-Benz New Zealand. It is an iconic brand with a proud history of innovation and category leadership. We will be working closely with the Mercedes-Benz team and their national dealership network to deliver strong retail campaigns as well as launching a range of exciting new models and innovative features."

Gavin Allen, General Manager Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific says he looks forward to working with the Raydar team to boost the visibility of Mercedes-Benz in the New Zealand market.

"Raydar is a fitting choice for our requirements and we have been impressed with their adaptation and speed-to-market credentials."

The move is part of a global alignment for the automotive brand under the BBDO agency roster and will see Raydar working alongside Clemenger BBDO Melbourne to adapt and develop work for the New Zealand market from Mercedes-Benz global materials.

While medium in size, Raydar's mix of retail expertise and brand disciplines combined with a strong creative and account service resource, houses a client base including KFC, Pizza Hut, Frucor Beverages, Heinz Wattie's, Kellogg's, The Laminex Group, 100%, Pacific Blue and now Mercedes-Benz.

"Our size, skill set and focus on results-driven marketing communication is proving to be particularly appealing to global brands that need a nimble agency with local market knowledge and expertise. We will continue to explore and develop this niche and evolve our offering to our clients to meet the market opportunities," says Mr McClay.

Work has already begun on the Mercedes-Benz account with the first retail campaign already completed and various other projects underway.

Ends.
