Asnet Technologies appoints new Managing Director

AUCKLAND, 4 April 2011 – Asnet Technologies, New Zealand’s leading provider of voice and video communications technology and a Polycom Platinum Partner, announced today the appointment of Eric Greenop as its new Managing Director.

Mr Greenop brings a wealth of international telecommunications experience to the role, having previously held management roles at companies such as Lend Lease, Transfield Telecommunications, Motorola, British Telecom and Mitel Telecommunications.

Mr Greenop says he is delighted to take over the reins of such an iconic New Zealand specialised organisation.

“It’s an exciting time for Asnet Technologies, particularly because of the high quality staff capability and technical expertise within the company,” says Mr Greenop.

“My aim is to ensure continued year-on-year growth of product and service offerings and company expansion that will enable Asnet to remain at the forefront of video conferencing services and products in the unified communications market.”

ChrisStewart, who incorporated the company in 1999 and has been a shareholder and General Manager since that time, says he is confident that Mr Greenop is the right person to take the company forward.

“Eric’s impressive qualifications and global experience will be invaluable to the high performing Asnet Technologies team,” says Mr Stewart, who added that the management transition will prefigure his exit from the company by the end of 2011.

Similarly, Denise Hansen, also a shareholder, who has been with Asnet Technologies since its incorporation and led the company’s videoconferencing education and training, will look to retire six months from now.
