Jade's New Mobile Platform Joob Set To Connect The World

MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jade's New Mobile Platform Joob Set To Connect The World

Beta Version Of Joob Designed And Developed By Young Christchurch Team

Christchurch, 15 April 2011 - Jade is delighted that the beta version of its new mobile platform called JOOB Mobile was launched today by the acting Minister for Economic Development Hon. David Carter on his visit to see how the Christchurch software team is creating leading innovative products that are connecting the world.

JOOB Mobile combines and connects any business system to users of any mobile device, and is part of a family of high performance products that solves hard business problems and delivers customers an application that enable staff and consumers to be more productive, as well as get products and services to market more quickly.

Craig Richardson, Managing Director of Jade says the JOOB Mobile cloud service was conceived around the time of the first earthquake in Christchurch in September 2010 and was passed to a young team of Jade's software engineers to design and develop into an application at the leading edge of mobile innovation.

"We are very proud that the Jade Software team have developed an innovative new product like JOOB Mobile for global growth markets despite the environmental challenges of the last six months. The Jade team represents some very smart Kiwis and this sort of innovation also helps New Zealand retain some of the country's best software talent here in Christchurch despite the earthquake," says Richardson.

"We're also delighted that the Minister for Economic Development chose to spend some time with the Jade software team ahead of the global launch of JOOB Mobile and its showcasing at Microsoft's prestigious TechEd event in the United States in May. Jade is very grateful for the support the Government which through the Ministry of Science and Innovation and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise will allow JOOB Mobile's entry into the US market."

Richardson adds that by 2014 more people will access the Internet from their mobile device than from their desktop so the timing and positioning of JOOB Mobile is right.

"The consumer and corporate world is rapidly unwiring itself to be truly mobile. This is obvious from the record sales of smart mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7. The JOOB Mobile cloud platform makes it easier, faster and more cost effective for companies to deliver smarter services to their mobile consumers and workforce. "
