Plus 4 Insurance Group Appoints New Chairman And Director

Plus 4 Insurance Solutions (Plus4), the national insurance adviser and broking group, today announced that it had appointed two new directors to its board. Grant Uridge from Wellington has been appointed board chairman, and Auckland based Roger Adams a director. Grant and Roger join Alan Bradnock, the Group’s founder, and Peter Rickards on the board.

Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has over 20 advisers working from nine locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. The Group, which has no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, offers unbiased advice tailored to its individual and business clients’ requirements and predominantly works with small to medium sized enterprises, their owners and their accountants.

Grant Uridge says, “Plus4 has elected to take a very different approach to the larger dealer groups. While we have experienced significant growth over the past three years, we’re not pursuing growth as an end in itself. Instead, we’ve elected to focus on building enduring client relationships based on well-researched advice and client service.

Grant Uridge has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to becoming an adviser in 2000, he held senior management roles with New Zealand’s leading rural insurance company FMG and with unit trust company Joseph Banks Trusts Limited. A Wellingtonian, Grant has a BBS from Massey University and is actively involved in Rotary, Scouting, and is a member of the Professional Advisers Association.

Roger has an AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) qualification, is a member of the Professional Advisers Association, and an avid sailor with numerous offshore trips under his belt.

Nelson based Peter Rickards is a Certified Financial Planner(cm) with over 20 years experience in the financial industry. His experience includes working for Louis Dreyfus managing their Australasian farming operations and as a Director of National Mutual Royal Bank (Australia), a large merchant bank, before going into business himself. In 2002, he returned to the financial services industry and subsequently purchased a successful brokerage company in Nelson. He and Alan Bradnock now represent Plus4 in the Nelson region. Peter has a BAgEcon majoring in marketing and business management from the University of New England in New South Wales, is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers, and enjoys competitive cycling.

Alan Bradnock has worked in the financial services sector since 1979 and has received many industry awards during that time. Prior to establishing Plus4 he built a nationwide distribution team, Metro Financial Services. Alan has lived in Nelson since 1998, is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers, and is currently completing an AFA qualification.

“Given that Plus4 are essentially a co-operative, we are very careful about who joins the group making sure they share our values and have the necessary experience and expertise, because each adviser has an equal shareholding in Plus4,” Grant Uridge said.
