ANZ Export Assistance Prize up for grabs

ANZ Export Assistance Prize up for grabs

ANZ is offering a $10,000 export assistance prize to a start up or expanding business with strong exporting potential. The ANZ Export Assistance Prize will be awarded as part of the ANZ Flying Start Business Plan Competition which is currently running nationwide.

The ANZ Flying Start competition will see an entrant with the best business plan win a $60,000 prize pack to help get their business up and running or expand further. Regional winners have the chance to win a $3,000 prize package.

The business judged to have the best export potential will receive a $10,000 trip to explore exporting opportunities in their choice of Asia Pacific countries that ANZ operates in.

“The ANZ Export Assistance Prize will be given in addition to the overall Flying Start $60,000 prize pack. It won’t necessarily go to the winner of the Flying Start Business plan competition, it could be won by any of the 51 regional finalists in the competition so it’s an added incentive for people to enter,” says Fred Ohlsson, ANZ’s Managing Director, Business Banking.

“We’re looking for an idea that has exporting merit which with a little help from us could achieve substantial and sustained exports,” says Mr Ohlsson. “It’s up to the applicants to decide which countries hold the best exporting opportunities for them. Visiting where ANZ has a presence will give the winner introductions to potential buyers and suppliers.

“ANZ operates exporter tours for our clients with the aim of helping the businesses identify overseas growth opportunities and gain a deeper understanding of a foreign market where there is export potential. We’ve led exporter tours in the past to China, Singapore and Hong Kong and while ANZ also has a presence in North America and Europe, the Asia Pacific market is increasingly significant for New Zealand’s economy.”
