Update on Jetstar New Zealand and Australian services: Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano

Jetstar wishes to provide a further update on its New Zealand services (Trans
Tasman and domestic) and Australian domestic operations for Tasmania as a result of a volcanic ash cloud caused by Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano in Chile.

The safety of our passengers and crew is Jetstar’s number one priority. As a Qantas Group airline, Jetstar like Qantas has in place the same monitoring and assessment processes and Jetstar continues to review the status of its operations to affected ports.

NEW ZEALAND

Auckland
At this point in time, Jetstar is operating its international services to/from Auckland International Airport with further updates to be provided later in the day.

This includes Singapore-Auckland-Singapore daily return service and Trans Tasman services.

Jetstar has cancelled the Auckland domestic services today that are listed below.

Jetstar is liaising with affected passengers and offering them the following options free of charge:

*Defer travel: Customers may defer their travel. Travel must be completed by 31 August 2011.*Re-routing to get passengers to their end destination. Travel must be
completed by 31 August 2011.
*Full refund or voucher to the value of the booking.

Jetstar will liaise with affected passengers in regards to alternative flight
arrangements. Alternatively, customers awaiting travel can call the Jetstar Contact Centre direct on:

We continue to review the situation and should future flights be affected, we
will notify passengers directly.

Media: Quickflix welcomes probe of Sky TV content deals
ASX-listed Quickflix has welcomed the New Zealand antitrust regulator's probe into Sky Network Television's content deals with internet service providers, saying the issues raised by the Commerce Commission are "serious and real."

Sky's shares sank 8.3 percent to a two-and-a-half month low $5 after the regulator said it will investigate the pay-TV operator's contracts with ISPs and potential barriers to accessing content. The announcement was made after the commission approved a joint venture between Sky and state-owned Television New Zealand to launch a budget pay-TV platform, Igloo.More >>

Fruit FlyMPI: No Fruit Fly Outbreak Detected to Date as Actions Continue
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) reports that testing on samples from fruit fly traps in the Auckland Controlled Area has so far shown no sign of further fruit flies.

However as a precautionary measure, the Ministry continues a large field effort to ensure that if any of the pest insects are present, they are not able to spread from the Avondale area where the one male fly was found last week.
