From Cars to Bras – Turners Holds Huge Lingerie Sale

Media Release 24 June 2011

From Cars to Bras – Turners Holds Huge Lingerie Clearance Sale

More than 170,000 items of lingerie at under $10 each

Forget cars and forget auctions, on the first weekend of July Turners will be all about bras and knickers – 170,000 of them to be exact!

The company, which is best known for its car and commercial auctions, is to be the venue for a huge cash and carry lingerie sale in Auckland. The sale stock includes bras, camisoles, ladies underwear, bikini tops and even the odd corset – and every item is priced at under $10.

“We all know that updating your underwear can be an expensive exercise, so this is a great chance for women to pick up some good basics for an absolute bargain,” says Lisa East, Turners’ Marketing Manager.

The stock has come from an Australian distributor that has closed its New Zealand operation, leading to the lingerie liquidation. Bonds and Berlei are just some of the top brands that can be picked up for next to nothing.

“It’s been an unusual time for the boys in the Turners warehouse – we usually store the trucks we have for sale in this location, so being surrounded by thousands of women’s delicates has been a bit of a change!” says Lisa.

For mums and mums-to-be, more than 10,000 items of kids’ underwear and baby clothes will be up for grabs at bargain basement prices too.

“We’ve got literally thousands of baby grows, so this is a great chance for mums to purchase essentials for their kids, and maybe find something for themselves at the same time,” Lisa says.

Every item will be under $10 and customers can pay by eftpos, credit card or cash.

The four-day sale will run from Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3 July at Turners Auctions warehouse, 100 Gavin Street, Penrose, Auckland.
