BP Takes Petrol Under $2
BP has dropped the price of petrol today by 4 cents per litre, taking it to under $2 a litre nationally for the first time since January. Diesel also fell by 3 cents per litre.
Prices at most BP-owned service stations are:
91 Unleaded $ 199.9 cents per litre 95 Unleaded $ 207.9 cents per litre BP Ultimate Diesel $ 141.9 cents per litre
BP Managing Director Mike McGuinness happily announced the news. "We're pleased to be dropping prices this morning.
We've been monitoring prices closely and quickly passed on this latest decrease when the cost of fuel on international markets fell.
"This is great news for customers and we're glad it comes in time for the weekend.
This morning's fall is BP's fourth price drop in as many weeks. Petrol has now fallen 10 cents since 21 July.
"It's been a tough year for many New Zealanders and we hope this milestone brings some relief.
The movement comes on the back of a lower oil price which has flowed through to refined fuel prices. “The dollar made some gains overnight and the continued fall of refined fuel prices have allowed us to pass on the savings.
Pump prices are made up of a number of factors, including the international price of petrol and diesel, the US/NZ exchange rate, and taxes and levies.
