Give Your Relationship The 5 Star Treatment It Deserves!

Plan A Romantic Rotorua Getaway This Valentine’s Day
Give Your Relationship The 5 Star Treatment It Deserves!

ROTORUA, 31st January 2012:
Valentine’s Day is the ultimate chance to create special memories, so romance the one you love next month with a trip to Rotorua to pamper and rejuvenate yourselves and your relationship.

Rotorua is surrounded by some of New Zealand’s most romantic and stunning scenery and is blessed with an abundance of thermal hot pools, luxurious spa treatments, fabulous accommodation and unique dining options.

For a truly unique and memorable experience, enjoy a delicious eight course Valentine’s Day degustation menu at Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort’s renowned Mokoia Restaurant. An acoustic guitarist and harpist will set a romantic mood as you and your partner indulge in the very best Pacific Rim cuisine. Priced at just $220 per couple, this will be a night to remember!

Another romantic dinner option this February 14 is a dinner cruise on board the iconic Lakeland Queen river boat. Watch the sun go down and the beautiful city lights cast their glow across Lake Rotorua as you are entertained by the ‘In Harmony’ duo. They will perform love ballads while you dine on a buffet meal including chocolate dipped strawberries and complimentary glass of champagne. The cruise will depart at 7pm for two hours and costs just $110 per couple.

Destination Rotorua Marketing general manager Oscar Nathan says couples travel from all over the world to soak in the city’s geothermal pools and enjoy fine-dining in a range of intimate restaurants.

“Rotorua has grown into a very sophisticated city and offers a range of experiences and luxury accommodation you won’t find anywhere else in New Zealand,” Nathan says.

One great example of the region’s award-winning luxury lodges is Peppers on the Point – a spectacular lakeside property surrounded by the sparkling waters of Lake Rotorua. Here, Valentine’s Day guests can experience a Valentine’s Love Package with one night and full breakfast in a lodge suite, pre dinner drinks with canapés and a four course gourmet dinner for two (valued at $999). A bottle of bubbly & box of chocolates will also be presented in suite on arrival.

Rotorua’s exclusive Hamurana Lodge is also offering special Valentine’s Day packages this year. You can surprise your soul mate with an overnight stay in one of the lodge’s Luxurious Superior rooms during the month of February. Indulge in a romantic candle lit dinner for two (valued at $220) and enjoy a superb French Breakfast overlooking Lake Rotorua for just $450 per couple.

Hamurana Lodge is home to Le Manoir Restaurant, which will be hosting a unique three course candlelight dinner on Valentine’s Day itself. Experience calm and soulful entertainment while you enjoy a romantic evening with your loved one for just $110 per person. Couples who book before February 5th will enter the draw to win a night stay for two in Hamurana Lodge’s Superior room, including breakfast, canapés and aperitif (valued at $980).

If you’re after great entertainment on your special night then Rotorua’s boutique Princes Gate Hotel is offering a Phantom Cabaret for $85 per person. This includes a complimentary Valentine’s Day Lovers Cocktail for you to enjoy during a memorable evening of great entertainment and cuisine.

Nathan knows many couples will also be keen to get out-and-about and have fun together while visiting the region. “If hot pools aren’t your thing, then Rotorua offers plenty of action like paintball, rock climbing, abseiling, sky diving, Zorb rides, bungy, quad biking, whitewater rafting and, of course, our world-famous luge track.”

Visiting the luge is also the perfect chance to enjoy Skyline Skyrides special ‘Dine in the Sky’ experience this Valentine’s Day so you can enjoy a romantic date with a difference. A superb four course meal will be served inside gondola cabins as they leisurely move up and down the side of Mt Ngongotaha with spectacular twilight views across Lake Rotorua.

So instead of opting for clichéd flowers and chocolates again this year, treat yourselves to the luxury only Rotorua can offer this Valentine’s Day.
