Damien McGahan, Planning Manager, Environment & Advisory
Aurecon is pleased to announce that Damien McGahan has been appointed Planning Manager, Environment & Advisory, based in Auckland.
Damien brings with him some 14 years’ experience in resource management and planning and has extensive experience on large infrastructure projects (including roading, airports and industry).
A critical component of his new role is to grow and strengthen the Auckland-based planning team so as to widen Aurecon’s current offering to key clients and to improve overall market presence in the local Auckland market.
“Building long-term, enduring strategic relationships with internal and external clients will be critical to the success of the planning team,” says Damien.
Internally, Damien will focus on opportunities with the Transport, Resources and Manufacturing, Land Development and Water Industries.
Prior to joining Aurecon, Damien spent seven years with Beca Planning, where he gained extensive experience in project managing and leading master/ structure planning projects, designations, plan changes and complex resource consents along with a range of policy initiatives. Prior to this role, he spent time in the United Kingdom where he worked with the London Borough of Hillingdon’s Airports team.
Damien’s major project experience includes the Victoria Park Tunnel project in Auckland (Planning Approvals Manager for the Victoria Park Alliance), Lion Nathan’s Greenfields brewery development in East Tamaki, Auckland (Planning Lead) and the Heathrow Terminal 5 project in the United Kingdom (Senior Aviation Planner).
