New board appointment for ATEED

The Mayor welcomes the appointment of Simon Tucker to the board of Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED).

Mr Tucker was appointed as director of the board by Auckland Council’s Council Controlled Organisations Strategy Review Subcommittee.

“Simon brings a good intellectual understanding of the next challenges for ATEED’s programme and is an expert in the space between government and business,” says Len Brown.

“Simon is an intelligent, strategic thinker and brings excellent analytical, relationship and stakeholder management skills, with sound judgement and high integrity,” adds David McConnell, Chair of ATEED.

Mr Tucker will commence this role tomorrow (1 May).

Auckland Council’s CCO Strategy Review Subcommittee is responsible for all board appointments to substantive CCOs and Watercare.
