NZer invited to steering committee of World Hindu Council

New Zealand businessman invited to the steering committee of World Hindu Economic Forum

Mr Vinod Kumar, a successful businessman from Auckland and the President of Hindu Council of New Zealand, who was invited to speak at the first World Hindu Economic Forum held in Hong Kong on Saturday, 30 June and Sunday, 1 July 2012 has been given a bigger responsibility.

Mr Kumar has been invited to join the steering committee of World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF). The primary objectives of WHEF are to promote activities of developing enterprise and entrepreneurship globally; to develop solutions for most crucial of the issues on world economy like sustainable development, education, eradication of poverty, climate change and infrastructure development; and to promote a value based corporate governance system through organizing seminars, conferences, and research activities.

The two-day conference with the theme “Shaping the World Economy along with making Society Prosperous” was inaugurated by The Honorable Anil Kumar Bachoo, the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, who read the message of the Prime Minister.

This conference brought together financially successful business people such as traders, bankers, technocrats, investors, industrialists, economists, thinkers and professionals to share their business knowledge, experience, and expertise with their fellow business people to generate surplus wealth in service of society and Dharma.

The conference discussed global economic scenario, present economic gloom and how to overcome, challenges and opportunities, industry success stories and successful models of industries and business, social entrepreneurship and practical approach to eradicate poverty, quality education to the masses along with providing necessary affordable health systems. Eminent panellists discussed the future trends and expectations of various sectors.

New Zealand Hindu business delegation had an opportunity to have discussions with successful business leaders who have established well internationally.

The Hindu business delegation members included Mr Vinod Kumar, Managing Director of Magsons Hardware Limited, Dr Guna Magesan, Director of Kiwi Bharat Ltd and General Secretary of Hindu Council of New Zealand, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, Director of DairyCare NZ and Mr Mahesh Bindra.

Magsons Hardware Limited, owner of three Mitre10 stores, largest retailers of home improvement products in New Zealand. Dairycare NZ is the manufacturer of a range of patented animal health products (based on Manuka honey and Aloe Vera) that are alternative to antibiotics and chemical based medicine.

Dr Magesan chaired one session on “Making Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Successful in the Global Market Place and Transform them as Global Players” where the panellists came from New Zealand, Malaysia, UK and India.

This conference gave an opportunity for New Zealand business people to cooperate, collaborate, and share business ideas and opportunities with investors.

A number of Hindu business leaders from around the world are interested in investing in New Zealand in general and with Maori businesses in particular, and we have invited them to participate in the New Zealand Hindu Business Conference next year.
