Hawke’s Bay real estate industry prepares for new player

Hawke’s Bay real estate industry prepares for major new player

The Hawke’s Bay real estate industry is set for a shakeup with global real estate brand, Sotheby’s International Realty, poised to enter the market.

The Hawke’s Bay office of NZ Sotheby’s International Realty will open in early August, making it one of a network of 600 Sotheby’s offices across 45 countries and territories selling unique and premium property.

Bringing the international realty company to Hawke’s Bay is former general manager of Tremain Real Estate, Fraser Holland and former Colliers International broker Lyn Hann. As owner, Mr Holland will lead the business in the role of managing director, with Mr Hann anticipated as the licensed agent. Both men are welcoming the opportunity to bring the renowned global player to the market.

“Marketing to buyers through our national and global networks, and on the Sotheby’s International Realty website, will ensure maximum exposure for the vendor,” says Mr Holland.

“It’s a truly global strategy that works successfully throughout the world and we are excited we can now offer it here. Our focus will be on mid to high end properties that are not necessarily defined by their price tag, rather what it is that makes them distinctive. Across Hawke’s Bay we see homeowners requesting a point of difference and a larger range of marketing options in order to sell their property,” he explains.

Sotheby’s International Realty’s entrance into Hawke’s Bay comes at a time when real estate sales volumes are increasing year on year, a trend that, according to the Real Estate Institute of NZ, is likely to continue.

“Using Sotheby’s International Realty’s vast international networking and referral system, buyers and sellers are connected globally. This means properties across the pricing spectrum can be marketed far beyond our province, ultimately attracting new blood to Hawke’s Bay, which of course has positive economic implications for the region,” says Mr Holland.

The Hawke’s Bay office will be working in with other New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty offices in Queenstown, Auckland and Christchurch, and with sales associates based in Wanaka and Marlborough.

“With its national and global reach, NZ Sotheby’s International Realty is able to offer vendors a new way to sell their residential, rural and lifestyle properties,” says Mr Hann.

“Sotheby’s International Realty is well known for its personal approach to servicing clients; an approach that is backed by a trusted brand with immense history.”

Mr Holland and Mr Hann will open their office next month and head up a small team of top sales professionals, currently being appointed.
