Exceltium Expands with General Manager Appointment

New Zealand's most successful corporate and public affairs consultancy, Exceltium Ltd, has expanded, adding the experience and expertise of former Star Public Relations Director Alan McDonald as General Manager of its consulting team.

Mr McDonald, a former national award winning journalist, has more than 15 years experience in corporate and public affairs and will bring to Exceltium a client portfolio including leading automotive, finance and investment, retail and agribusiness organisations.

He is a former corporate affairs manager for farming co-operative New Zealand Dairy Group and listed company TranzRail, has held a number of senior communications roles within Fonterra and has worked with leading businesses in the energy, banking, education, sports and agricultural sectors.

Exceltium Managing Director Matthew Hooton said Mr McDonald's lengthy experience in both the media and PR sectors would enhance the skill base at Exceltium and provide further valuable counsel to Exceltium clients, especially in the areas of corporate reputational and stakeholder management and media management.

"Alan joins Exceltium at a time of growth for our business and is merging his interests with Exceltium to take a General Manager's role with my existing team," Mr Hooton said. "Those interests and his skills are highly complementary to the existing operations of Exceltium and bring the resources and knowledge required for further expansion of our corporate affairs advisory business."

Mr McDonald will be based in Exceltium's Auckland office and will also work from its satellite office in Wellington. He takes up his new appointment on 1 August.
