Samdog Chosen for Cross Government Common Web Services Panel

MEDIA RELEASE, 13 September 2012

Samdog Chosen for Cross Government Common Web Services Panel

Wellington design agency samdog has been selected as part of a panel of providers who will help to deliver government web services. The Department of Internal Affairs today announced that samdog is one of the web service providers on its new Cross-Government Panel for Common Web Services.

Samdog director Nick Lloyd says his design agency is celebrating the achievement in the highly competitive web design and web services market after a rigorous selection process involving a wide pool of applicants.

Samdog was successful in being selected for all five capabilities it applied to the panel for: Information Architects; Usability Advisors; Front End Developers; Graphical/Visual Designers; and Accessibility Consultants. But he believes it was not only his agency’s expert technological and design experience and capability that won them a position on the new panel, but its strong focus on the human element.

“Websites are all about people,” Mr Lloyd says. “They are a means to communicate and to commune. So I think this selection reflects the fact that samdog is a real leader in the field of web user experience, usability and accessibility, as we always strive to create sites that are clear, relevant and useable for the people accessing them.

We also take care to really understand our clients’ needs and help them through the ever-evolving complexities of digital services, as well as providing a measurable return on investment and expectation.”

The panel will help to streamline government procurement practices that currently require open tendering for web projects. The Common Web Services initiative will enable government agencies to seek their web service solutions directly from one of the pre-approved suppliers on the panel.

Mr Lloyd comments that, “Samdog is really excited by this opportunity to extend our range of brand strategy, graphic design and web design work that we love delivering to NGOs and the private sector to include the New Zealand Government, and therefore the general public as its web users.”

Samdog was established in 1999, and its client list includes the New Zealand Teachers Council, Horticulture New Zealand, the National Collective of Women’s Refuge, and FX Networks, among many others.
